As one of the School Direct programme tutors for secondary MMU trainees within Teach Manchester my role is to mentor trainees across the secondary partnership.  I am currently completing the Teach Manchester National Professional Qualification for Middle Leaders (NPQML). This has helped to further my coaching and mentoring ability, whilst also developing my understanding of pedagogical techniques and educational policies.

My role at St Peter’s RC High School is a Professional Mentor and Teacher of biology, chemistry and physics at KS3 and KS4. I have previously been a subject mentor to science trainees helping to facilitate the development of their teaching practice, whilst also helping to further develop their pedagogy.

This year I have coordinated the Maths and Physics internships at St Peter’s. This involved providing the interns with a variety of different activities over the course of their placement, which has allowed them to explore school life, supporting their career choices.
