I became a Science Advanced Skills Teacher at Trinity CofE High School in 2004 and I have supported many colleagues in Manchester over the years. As a Lead Practitioner, a large part of my work has been focussed on supporting trainee teachers and colleagues new to the profession. I work with PGCE Core and School Direct trainees in both a subject mentor and professional mentor capacity.

In recognition of the excellent quality of the ITT programme at Trinity, the University of Manchester awarded Trinity ‘Outstanding Established Partnership School’ in 2018.

I am a Chartered Science Teacher and I have been an active member of the ASE (Association for Science Education) regional committee for several years. In 2017 I organised the first of our series of popular ASE Science TeachMeets at Trinity.

I am passionate about finding out ‘what works’ in education and I regularly attend national and regional ResearchEd conferences. This has led me to become involved in several fascinating education research projects in recent years.

I am a member of the Trinity Teaching and Learning Group, the Teach Manchester Professional Development Group and the University of Manchester Secondary PGCE Partnership Committee.
