Current responsibilities

I have been a Maths teacher for over 20 years and am still passionate about learning strategies and pedagogy to enable our young people to engage and achieve in mathematics. I am also an Assistant Headteacher and my leadership role is quality of education in KS3.

As part of this role I have the NPQH, the OLEVI facilitation accreditation to deliver the ITP (Improving Teacher’s Programme) and OTP (outstanding Teacher Programme) and additionally passed the Cambridge Effective lesson observation course.

Why I chose to be an SLE

I always find it a great pleasure to share knowledge and expertise, and see people and departments develop over time. In the same instance, as an SLE we are privileged to go into other schools and invariably we may find examples of good practice to bring back to our own schools, which in return helps us all to provide the best educational experiences for children.

Specific area of expertise:

  • Mastery Maths
  • Assessment
  • Teaching and Learning
  • CPD
