I have been working with both PGCE and Schools Direct trainees for 6 years, in both a subject mentor and a professional mentor capacity. I have also worked with NQTs as both subject and professional mentor. I am responsible for ensuring all NQT reports are accurate and observe all NQTs at St Peter’s once a term.

I have a role within St Peter’s and across the alliance to oversee placements to ensure the quality of provision being provided and to check for consistency of approach for the trainees. This role has involved managing and agreeing expectations between mentors and trainees and managing difficult conversations where there are conflicting expectations.

I also work as a coach for teachers at St Peters who are taking part in the Improving Teaching Program.

I have been teaching for 8 years, and have been Head of Business for 5 years, which has involved supporting other schools where their Business department has bene struggling. As part of my roles as a middle leader, I have completed the 2 year Teaching Leaders course including all modules on coaching and mentoring skills.

I am a TEEP ambassador at St Peter’s and have a keen interest in developing teaching and learning for both trainees and established members of staff.
