Finding your authenticity on your journey as a school leader
This informal session will be led and facilitated by Sarah Gregory who has 12 years of experience as a senior leader and has recently secured a secondary Headship post.
Sarah has spent her 24 year career in a broad range of different school contexts including both faith schools and non-denominational, all girls, all boys and mixed, 11-16 and those with post-16 provision, inner city comprehensives and selective grammar schools, local authority school and those in a multi-academy trust – she has even crossed the North/South divide having begun her career in South East London before latterly relocating to South Manchester!
During this session Sarah will outline her journey through senior leadership, aiming to provide insight into the process of application and interview at SLT level, something that she has both experienced and led. The session will also include a focus on the need to establish and communicate personal and professional authenticity as a school leader, as well as the opportunity to meet and network with SLT peers from other schools across Greater Manchester.
This session is primarily aimed at Assistant Heads looking to progress to Deputy Head and Deputy Heads wishing to progress to their first Headship, but may also be of interest to experienced Middle Leaders seeking their first SLT appointment.
