This three day, in-depth course covers assessment, reading and writing and will equip your Teaching Assistants with the skills they need to deliver this successful intervention in your school.
Fischer Family Trust is a highly successful one-to-one intervention, using strategies from the Reading Recovery programme and delivered by teaching assistants over 10-20 weeks.
It is designed for children in Year One to Year Three who are experiencing difficulties with reading and writing, but has been used successfully for some children up to Year Six. FFT will support accelerated progress to narrow the gap towards attaining age related expectations. Teaching Assistants should attend the course with a teacher, who can offer advice and supervision of the programme, back in school.
Please note – the programme uses the PM starter pack of levelled texts, so if you do not have them in school already, we strongly recommend your school purchases the sets (Pink to Blue Band) available from Scholastic.
