Martenscroft Nursery School and Children’s Centre, a Teach Manchester Teaching school and Strategic Partner and Quality 4 Early Years invite you to join us for a relaxed evening, networking – listening to an inspiring speaker Dr Helen Bibby.

Helen has worked in education for 27 years, having worked extensively with schools in Wirral on child development and SEND. She has worked with children with attachment disorder through nurture groups, conducted post doctoral research on sensory processing and language development, supported the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service with regard to providing training on supporting children with anxiety. Helen has produced several information packs on Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Sensory and Emotional Regulation, ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Impact of Premature Birth on educational outcomes and Developing early Language Opportunities for children in F1 who are non verbal for settings and schools on the Wirral.

She is particularly interested in learning styles for children with Special Educational Needs. Using her research findings, Helen has created a provision for children with complex learning and developmental needs at Leasowe Nursery School and Family Centre.
Helen has also written a practitioner guide on supporting children with developmental delay entitled ‘Bridging the Gap and Making Connections’, which looks at how we can revisit early experiences to ‘re-wire’ the brain and form connections.
