My teaching career has been very broad, having started as a mainstream teacher delivering A Level and GCSE Philosophy, Ethics and RE. I then became Head of Department, a job that was incredibly rewarding and equally challenging.
My passion for teaching students with SEND was always at the forefront of my mind and I made the transition to Piper Hill Specialist School, becoming Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for the Quality of Education. My additional whole school responsibilities include: Curriculum, T&L, Head of English and Head and Head of Key Stage Three. In my capacity as ITT Professional Programme Lead, I endeavour to adopt a holistic approach across all facets of education to support trainees to develop their pedagogy and practice.
I am passionate about training the next generation of outstanding teachers and believe that Piper Hill School Direct and Teach Manchester allow for true collaboration across partner and alliance schools. The course supports trainees to gain the skills and knowledge they need to be effective within the fast paced and dynamic world of education. More importantly it creates the ethos that allows the children of Manchester to make the best progress that they can.
